2 dead, 1 hurt in Coral Gables shootingWPLG Local 10

A large police presence was seen at a Coral Gables apartment building Thursday morning as police investigated a shooting that left two people dead and another injured.

It happened at 320 Granello Ave., near the intersection of U.S. 1 and Le Jeune Road. Video from Sky 10 taken just after 10:15 a.m. showed multiple officers and crime scene tape outside of the building.

According to the Miami-Dade Police Department, which investigates homicides on behalf of Coral Gables police, one of the victims called 911 just before 9:45 a.m. to report the shooting, which led to a brief lockdown at nearby Coral Gables High School.

The surviving victim was taken to a nearby hospital, police said.

Authorities said one of the victims was a young adult.

A neighbor told Local 10 News that they had heard the shooting was a murder-suicide, though police hadn’t publicly identified any victims, suspects or a motive as of around 11:30 Thursday morning.
