Paul Kaplan, the newly appointed U.S. CEO of global property management firm Odevo, dropped $14.8 million on a waterfront house in Coral Gables just two months after getting the C-suite title.
Kaplan and his wife, Michele Kaplan, bought the house at 250 Leucadendra Drive in gated Gables Estates from Rafael Cruz, records show.
Kaplan co-founded Miami-based KW Property Management & Consulting in 2004. Sweden-based Odevo acquired the firm in 2022, and named Kaplan as CEO of its U.S. arm in April. Records show the Kaplans also own another Coral Gables house they bought for $1.2 million in 2012.
Cruz bought the Leucadendra Drive house for $10.3 million in 2021, property records show. Built in 1970 on nearly an acre, the 6,100-square-foot house has six bedrooms, six bathrooms, one half-bathroom, a home theater, gym and pool, according to records and the listing. The property spans 200 feet of waterfront with an 80-foot dock, the listing shows.
Cruz listed the estate for $18 million in October, according to Realtor.com.
Luxury buyers covet waterfront homes in Coral Gables. Last month, tech founder Brian Long and New York Times executive producer Liz Day sold their waterfront mansion for $16.5 million. In January, the spec developer Mocca Group sold a newly completed mansion in Coral Gables for $21 million. That same month, a shoe magnate sold his waterfront estate to spec developers for $22 million.
