Belong I Brickell I Miami

Belong, a rental homes management company, is moving its headquarters from California to Brickell in Miami.

The company will occupy a 7,000-square-foot space at the Brickell City Tower at 80 Southwest Eighth Street, according to Owen Savir, co-founder of Belong. It is renovating the space and working out of a temporary office at the 800 Brickell tower for the time being.

Roughly 20 employees, including the company’s executives, will work at the Brickell City Tower, although more are poised to make the transition down the line, Savir said.

New York Life Investors owns the tower, having paid $117.3 million for it in 2017.

Belong has about 300 employees nationwide and offers owners of rental homes financial tools and management services aimed at easing the work associated with being a landlord. Its previous headquarters was in San Mateo.

In May, the company raised $80 million in a Series C funding round, with Fifth Wall leading the equity financing. Belong also is backed by Battery Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz and GGV Capital.

The relocation is in line with South Florida, and especially Brickell, becoming a magnet for company relocations and expansions, with many of their executives also purchasing homes here.

Weiss Serota Helfman Cole + Bierman I Coral Gables, Boca Raton

Law firm Weiss Serota Helfman Cole + Bierman has relocated its Coral Gables and Boca Raton offices.

The firm leased 15,000 square feet on the 12th floor at 2800 Ponce de Leon Boulevard in the Gables, with 40 attorneys now based there, according to a Weiss Serota news release. The space is smaller than its previous 20,000-square-foot office in the Gables at 2525 Ponce de Leon Boulevard.

Weiss Serota also leased 12,000 square feet at One Boca Place at 2255 Glades Road, according to the release. The space, which more than doubles the firm’s previous Boca Raton office at 1200 North Federal Highway, is the base for 22 attorneys, although additional lawyers are expected to work there in the future.

TA Realty owns the 2800 Ponce building, having paid $60 million for the property in 2019.

Rockwood Capital and CP Group own the One Boca Place property.

Taxfyle I Coconut Grove I Miami

Accounting firm Taxfyle moved its headquarters but it is starting in Miami’s Coconut Grove neighborhood.

The company, which is known for its tax-prep app known as the “Uber for taxes,” leased 10,000 square feet at 2911 Grand Avenue, according to a news release. The firm moved from 2901 Florida Avenue.

The company has more than 100 employees, including 70 new hires in the marketing, sales, design and human resources departments.

An entity in the care of West Palm Beach-based Whalou Properties owns the building, according to records.

Konos Gelato I Coral Gables

Konos Gelato will open its 10th South Florida location in Coral Gables.

The company signed a five-year lease for 1,400 square feet at the 210 Miracle Mile building, owned by Miami Beach-based Terranova, according to a release. The Italian gelato chain will open during the first quarter of next year.

Mindy McIlroyof Terranova, represented the landlord.

Miami Beach-based Terranova, led by Stephen Bittel, also recently scored tenants at its properties along South Beach’s Lincoln Road. In August, retailers Callista Couture leased 1,200 square feet at 612 Lincoln Road, and Unfashional leased 1,500 square feet at 817 Lincoln Road, with an additional 1,700-square-foot pop-up space at 815 Lincoln Road.

Kor Distribution, Rayus Radiology, Salt Life I Palm Beach County

Kor Distribution grew its industrial footprint to the Palm Beach Park of Commerce in the western end of the county, leasing 36,000 square feet at 14924 Corporate Road South in western Palm Beach County, according to a release. Kor focuses on manufacturing, warehousing and order fulfillment services.

In Jupiter, diagnostic and interventional radiology provider Rayus Radiology leased 10,000 square feet of medical office space at 1680 South Central Boulevard, and Salt Life clothing store leased 2,000 square feet at 128 Breakwater Court in the Harbourside Place development.

SVN’s Rob Hamman represented Kor and the landlords in the Rayus and Salt Life deals. Cooper Stetson, also of SVN, also worked on the Rayus lease.
